There aren’t a ton on the list at the moment since so many movies expected to drop are being sneaky secret holders and keeping movie plots under wraps for the time being, but we’ve compiled a list of others that you should add to your “movie premiere” calendar ASAP. 1. House Party

When it premieres: January 13, 2023
What it’s about: This remake of the 1990 movie of the same name follows two guys who, after getting fired from their house cleaning job that ended with cleaning LeBron James’s mansion, decide to host a mega Hollywood party at the athlete’s house to make some quick cash.

2. When You Finish Saving the World

When it premieres: January 20, 2023
What it’s about: Jesse Eisenberg wrote and directed this comedy-drama about a disconnected mother and son who struggle to understand each other. Ziggy (Finn Wolfhard) performs music on livestreams to a ton of fans while Evelyn (Julianne Moore) works with domestic abuse survivors.
Get ready to see Finn sing his heart out in this movie!

3. Shotgun Wedding

When it premieres: January 27, 2023 on Prime Video
What it’s about: Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel play soon-to-be newlyweds whose wedding gets overtaken by criminals.

4. You People

When it premieres: January 27, 2023 on Netflix
What it’s about: Jonah Hill (who also co-wrote the movie) plays a guy who meets his girlfriend’s parents and vice versa. Hilariously, things don’t go as planned, as both sides of the new couple’s family are vastly different.

5. Magic Mike’s Last Dance

When it premieres: February 10, 2023
What it’s about: The third film in the Magic Mike saga, Last Dance takes our favorite male exotic dancer to London for a new adventure.

6. Cocaine Bear

When it premieres: February 24, 2023

What it’s about: Based on a true story (seriously!), this horror-comedy follows a bear who consumed a bunch of coke and goes on a drug-fueled rampage.

7. Shazam! Fury of the Gods

When it premieres: March 17, 2023
What it’s about: A sequel to the 2019 smash hit, Shazam!, this movie continues the adventures of Billy Batson (Asher Angel), who can turn into his superhero alter ego (Zachary Levi) when he says the magic word, and his ragtag group of foster brothers and sisters.

8. Barbie

When it premieres: July 21, 2023
What it’s about: Greta Gerwig directed and co-wrote this live-action adaptation of the iconic Mattel doll. The plot is currently being kept under wraps, but the internet freaked out when first-look pics of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, respectively, dropped.

9. Next Goal Wins

When it premieres: September 22, 2023

What it’s about: From the director of JoJo Rabbit and Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi gives us a new comedy about the true story of a truly terrible American Samoa soccer team who infamously lost a 2001 FIFA match, 31-0. Hoping to improve their team, they hire an unorthodox coach.
The movie is based on the 2014 documentary of the same name, which you can stream on Kanopy now.

10. Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget

When it premieres: November 10, 2023 on Netflix
What it’s about: Premiering 23 years after the original Chicken Run dropped, this animated sequel continues the misadventures of plucky Ginger (Thandiwe Newton) and charming Rocky (Zachary Levi).
Some of the original voice artists are reprising their roles, including Imelda Staunton as Bunty and Jane Horrocks as Babs. If it’s been a hot minute since you’ve seen the OG film, Bunty and Babs are Ginger’s BFFs.
