Spotify is a proprietary Swedish audio streaming and media services provider founded on 23 April 2006 by Daniel Ek and Martin Lorentzon. It is one of the largest music streaming service providers, with over 456 million monthly active users, including 195 million paying subscribers, as of September 2022. Rema – 35.2 million

Divine Ikubor[1] (born 1 May 2000) professionally known by his stage name Rema,[3][4] is a Nigerian singer, musician, and rapper. He rose to stardom with the release of the song “Dumebi”. In 2019, he later signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records.[5]

2. Burna Boy – 16.5 million

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu MFR[3] (born 2 July 1991),[2] known professionally as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer.[4][1][5] He rose to stardom in 2012 after releasing “Like to Party”, the lead single from his debut studio album, L.I.F.E (2013). In 2017, Burna Boy signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the United States and Warner Music Group internationally. Chukwuka Ekweani (born 16 July 1995), better known by his stage name Ckay (stylised as CKay), is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer signed to Warner Music South Africa,[1] and Atlantic Records.[2] He was formerly signed to Chocolate City, a member of Warner Music Group independent label services ADA. His international hit single “Love Nwantiti“, also known as “Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ahh)”, was released in 2019 by Chocolate City. On 29 March 2022, the song debuted at number one, following the launch of the Billboard Afrobeats chart.[3] On 9 May 2022, it became the first-ever African song to surpass one billion streams on Spotify and has since been deemed “the biggest hit in African history”.[4][5]

4 Tems – 13.9M

Temilade Openiyi (born 11 June 1995), known professionally as Tems, is a Nigerian singer.[1] She rose to prominence after she was featured on Wizkid‘s 2020 single “Essence,” which reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 after the release of a remixed version with an additional feature from Justin Bieber, and earned her a Grammy Award nomination.[2] That same year, she was featured on Drake’s song, “Fountains.”

5. Wizkid – 8.9M

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born 16 July 1990), known professionally as Wizkid,[3] is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. A prominent figure in the modern-day Afrobeats music scene, Wizkid is regarded as one of the biggest and most influential African artists of all time.[4][5] He began recording music at the age of 11 and released a collaborative album with the Glorious Five (5), a group he and a couple of his church friends formed. In 2009, Wizkid signed a record deal with Banky W‘s Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E). He later rose to the limelight after releasing “Holla at Your Boy“, the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011), which also spawned the singles “Tease Me/Bad Guys” and “Don’t Dull“.

Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, known professionally as Oxlade, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter signed to Troniq Music, Epic Records in France, and Fuenlabrada Records in the UK. He rose to prominence with the release of the song “Away”, which appeared on Rolling Stone’s 50 best songs of 2020. Oxlade was named the first Pandora Africa’s Next Artist in July 2022

7. Fireboy – 8.1M

Adedamola Adefolahan (born 5 February 1996), known professionally as Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian singer. He is signed to YBNL Nation, a record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. His debut studio album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps was released in 2019. He won Listener’s Choice and was nominated for Song of the Year for “Jealous” at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival.

8. Libianca – 7.7M

Libianca may have fooled some of us into fandom. Her incredible talent as a pristine vocalist is the real thing, though. He started his career under the pseudonym MC Sool until 2013 before adopting his new stage name. Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe (born 14 June 2002), known professionally as Ayra Starr, is a Nigerian singer. She was born in CotonouBenin. Ayra Starr began a fashion career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management before deciding to pursue her musical career properly. After covering several songs by popular artists on Instagram, she posted her first original song on her page in December 2019. This brought her to the attention of record executive Don Jazzy, and led to her signing to Mavin Record
